Caffeine beverages is healthy to the human body but pregnant women should limit it consumption.

Excess drinking of coffee during pregnancy may increase the chance of miscarriage.

 In as much that coffee is one of the most consumed beverage around the world, health experts has warned mothers who are expecting baby to limit the intake of caffeine.

In two studies done in 2008 on the effect of caffeine linked to miscarriage showed two different result. One of the result reviewed that women who drink 200 mg or more caffeine daily are more likely to have miscarriage unlike those who do not consume caffeine.

The second result showed women who drink 200 mg to 350 mg  coffee per day do not have miscarriage, but to be in a safer side and also the conflicting results, health professional advice pregnant mothers to reduce the consuming of coffee.

Most individuals who consume coffee knows the health benefit of caffeine in their body, caffeine has effect on energy level and focus.

Metabolizing of caffeine is slowly in pregnant women, it take 1.5-3.5 times longer to eliminate caffeine from the body, caffeine can also enter the placenta and find it way into the baby bloodstream, which is highly alarming that it may affect the child's health.

American College of Obstetricians Gynecologists reports that low intake of caffeine may not increase the risk of miscarriage or preterm birth but some research suggest that intake of higher amount of caffeine may increase the chance of miscarriage.
